Dismantling Systemic Barriers to Education, One Top College Admission at a Time
Situation
We started working with TeenSHARP at a pivotal moment in their journey. After 15 years of helping thousands of high-achieving Black, Latino, and low-income students navigate high school successfully and get admitted to America's most selective colleges with minimal or no debt, the non-profit had a bold vision to expand their mission nationwide.
After building out a strategic operational plan to advance educational equity nationwide, the non-profit came to us to execute their communications and digital strategy. The timing aligned perfectly with TeenSHARP's upcoming appearance in a CBS Reports documentary on the End of Affirmative Action, produced by award-winning journalist, Soledad Obrien. With a national spotlight on the way, the organization wanted to make the most of this moment- reaching more students, engaging more supporters, and positioning itself as a go-to expert in college access.




Approach
Anticipating a surge in website traffic following the documentary release, TeenSHARP and Sociable Consulting moved swiftly into action. After conducting a comprehensive website audit, we optimized security and performance. With a storytelling and impact-driven approach, we began wireframing and designing a new website while crafting a full-scale digital marketing strategy.
We infused the website with compelling student success stories, bold impact statistics, and a powerful narrative that amplifies TeenSHARP's mission. The refreshed website now delivers a modern, youthful, and story-driven experience, resonating with education leaders, parents, students, and investors alike. To make the most of TeenSHARP's national exposure, we worked with CBS Reports' digital team to roll out a strategic campaign that included: Targeted emails to key audiences, making sure the right people saw and shared the documentary, social media videos and behind-the-scenes content to build buzz and drive engagement, as well as custom toolkits for TeenSHARP's staff and advisory board to amplify the feature.
Within days of the documentary's release, TeenSHARP experienced a significant increase in program applications from students and parents nationwide. The impact was felt far beyond applications, with national mentions from education leaders, policymakers, and coverage in top publications like the Hechinger Report, USA Today, and CBS News.





Establishing Thought Leadership in a Shifting College admissions Landscape
The Supreme Court's decision on affirmative action has made the college admissions process even more challenging, particularly for students from marginalized communities. With selective institutions seeing a decline in Black and Latino enrollment, TeenSHARP recognized the urgent need to amplify its impact and voice in the national conversation.
Taking the lead on TeenSHARP's long-term strategy, Sociable Consulting integrated all of their digital channels-email, social media, paid advertising, and campaigns into a unified, powerful approach. This ensured that TeenSHARP's message reached the right people at the right time, strengthening its position as a trusted authority in navigating the evolving post-affirmative action landscape and a key player in shaping the future of college access.
